Welcome to Legacy Planning & Probate, LLC (LPP)! The Firm has been open and active for a little over nine months, so I thought it might be helpful to tell you a little bit more about me. My name is Kim and I am the founder, owner, and managing attorney at LPP. I opened LPP in December after several years with a boutique estate planning, probate, and tax law firm in downtown Denver. Building a business during a Pandemic has definitely been an interesting journey, but I am so grateful for my amazing clients, friends, and family who have supported me and encouraged me along the way.
I was born in Galveston, Texas, and moved to Fort Worth when I was very young. Growing up, I was a competitive dancer and spent most weekends at the studio or at competitions. Those years of commitment and dedication serve me well in this role: I’m devoted to each and every client and guarantee a satisfactory outcome.
When it came time to plan for college, Texas A&M (Gig ‘Em!) was really the only choice for me. My parents met at A&M and, as they say, maroon and white runs in our blood. While at A&M, I was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and continued to dance, even serving as the President of Texas A&M’s Dance Arts Society. I was lucky enough my Senior year to have my younger sister join me at A&M to make it a true family affair.
After graduating from A&M with a degree in International Studies and a minor in Spanish, I headed to the University of Denver for my J.D. and L.L.M. in taxation. I fell in love with Colorado and decided to make it my forever home.
Since being licensed to practice law in Colorado, I have been involved in the Colorado Bar Association Trusts & Estates Section, the Junior League of Denver, the Denver Ballet Guild, the Women’s Estate Planning Council, Metro Volunteer Lawyers, and the Denver Probate Court Pro Se Clinic. In 2019, I became licensed to practice in Texas, as well.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my rambunctious toddler, my husband (who I met my first year in law school at DU), and our golden retrievers. We love experiencing all that Colorado has to offer. I love meeting new people and hearing about their lives and experiences . I’d love to hear from you!
